Psycho-educational Programs (I)

Anger Management (8 sessions)

The anger management program is designed for individuals who may experience difficulties in managing their anger which in turn causes troubles in their personal lives or the lives of others. The program teaches individuals to overcome rage and develop a healthier way to cope and express their anger emotions. Based on a scientific study conducted in 2008, 33 clients who successfully completed AMP shown reduced levels of anger, hostility, verbal and physical aggression. It is based on Rational Emotive Therapy (RET). The program also encourages participants to understand what anger is and the necessity of putting into practice the skills involved in appropriate anger response and/or resolution. The program is offered in either a group or individual (one-on-one) sessions.


Domestic Violence (12 sessions)

This program is designed for individuals who may experience anger causing difficulties in their relationships. The program shows how power and control are the roots of domestic violence and how many family members control others through violence. The program teaches individuals to overcome rage and develop a healthier way to cope and manage their emotions. The participants are led to understand what anger is to the point of putting into practice the skills involved in appropriate anger response and/or resolution. The program can be conducted in either a group or individual (one-on-one) session.

 

Reconciliation (8-12 sessions)

The program is a life skill program tailored to meet the client's needs and helps them to develop the necessary skills to deal with life's challenges. The program identifies and addresses the rising problems of abuse(s) and stress. Further, the program provides support, guidance and direction to individuals suffering from stress and/or depression over personal issues which may affect their daily life or relationship with others and themselves. The reconciliation program can be conducted in either a group setting or individual (one-on-one) sessions.


Parenting Skill Enrichment (8 sessions)

The parenting skill enrichment program is designed specifically for soon to be parents, parents and guardians who may find parenting challenging or even at times feeling overwhelming. The program provides an overview to parents to help them understand the psycho-social developmental stages of children, their parental role for each stage as well as the goals and tasks their children have to face or go through at each stage. The program also provides guidance to parents in exploring disciplinary approaches, the influence of media on children, taking precaution in preventing addiction as well as handling conflicts with their children. The program can be conducted in either a group or individual (one-on-one) session.


Couple/Marriage Enrichment (8-12 sessions)

The couple / marriage enrichment program is tailored to meet the specific client needs. The program provides individuals with guidance towards building a vital and satisfying relationship. The objectives in the program help to identify some of the stumbling blocks (i.e. problems or issues) that hinder the growth of the relationship. Clients learn how to overcome stumbling blocks and turn them into strengths and empower the relationship by developing sustainable plans for building a stronger and more satisfying relationship. The program can be conducted in either a group or individual (one-on-one) session.


Pre-Marital Preparation (6-8 sessions)

The Pre-Marital program is designed for engaged couples to have a better understanding of their "selves", their partner, as well as their family origins, to anticipate any areas that they may have future conflicts, to develop conflict resolution skills to handle conflicts and personal differences and to set realistic goals (such as budget and finances, short term and long term ones). This program also encourages strengthening of their communication skills, which helps to build a stronger bond at the same time, to enhance personal and growth as a couple. The program can be conducted in either a group or individual (one-on-one) session.
